Abyssal Musings
It's been quite the journey thusfar, and I've many more leagues to traverse. There exists within me but one fear that if I were to stop moving forward, I might drown. It has always been this way.
When I create, often I get pulled into a riptide where the world disappears, threads form of themselves, and I awake hours later only to be weaving something that arose somehow from the infinite blank.
Once I notice the figures in front of me, a somewhat surprised feeling follows, dampened then cooled by the wisdom of my countless descents through such cycles.
As in a mirror, my immediate thoughts seek how to improve what I've created; and while I do feel rewarded, it is my longing to return to the design depths that is the prime mover. Hence, I've been practicing since 1996, with design offering fulfillment without clause.
It is clear that creation, in and of itself, lives as an everlasting sense.

Senior UIUX Designer, Platform Designer

- Designed a unified, holistic, component driven, quick to implement UIUX design system to power all Estée Lauder internal business applications, numbering over 35 apps in total
- Defined design standards to guide Estée Lauder's full transition from “Legacy Desktop” to a modern “Responsive Web Cloud Based” platform
- My special emphasis was upon iterative prototype design for Estée Lauder's most critical, highest priority internal business applications. Redesigning their core “Research and Development System (RDS)” was my primary responsibility, while handing those designs over for subordinate designers to follow was my secondary
- These demanded deep anticipatory understanding of the workflows of Executive Level Project Stakeholders, Project and Corporate Directors, Lead IT Architects, Lead Scientists, and their most Senior Chemists. Their preferences and ideas were to be understood while identifying, then solving for, their pain points
- Designing templates supporting 1000's of screens across 35+ internal apps into a singular cohesive UX
- Led executive level presentations on design iterations of critical applications. Each UIUX mandate would then ripple through the company, unifying the product across hundreds of developers split among dozens of international teams to ensure key frontend uniformity

- Designed an atomic, component driven design system for product wide implementation across every arm of the company revolving around myriad eCommerce first and third party gift card solutions
- Designed in-house and branded marketplaces, stored value wallets (fiat and crypto), crowd-funded group gifting, gift goal driven registry systems, point reward user incentive systems, value sharing and redemption, and white label versions of every company arm for rapid client adoption

- Incepted unified frontend design systems leveraging the Bootstrap framework while keeping in accordance with WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Compliance Standards (AA Rating) and expanding upon Google Material Design UIUX principles

- Drafted various user engagement & feedback gameplay systems of a predictive stock market financial analysis platform that “gamifies” real-time & ahead-of-time prediction across myriad entertainment verticals represented in-game ranging from Professional & College Sports, television events such as The Grammys & The Oscars, natural forces such as The Weather & The Stock Exchange
- Designed interface flows & graphics for app-wide user experiences in gameplay, reward points redemption for real world + virtual objects, fully interactive & image slideshow first-contact tutorials, menu hierarchies & nesting, gameplay loops & subsystems, sweepstakes buy-ins & cash-outs, push notification pacing, socialized “League” competitions etc.
- Created in-app iconography, slider graphics, and backdrops for featured games, and gameplay functions
- Designed multiple UIUX flows using Balsamiq for rapid iterative prototyping and Photoshop + Illustrator for high resolution drafts & finalsDesigned investor presentation imagery and decks for marketing, partnership, & sponsorship opportunities with companies such as AT&T and Coca Cola.
